Parents' Corner:  For Your Information

A Message from the Communications Committee

The PTA recently introduced the Brunner Backp@ck, a weekly e-mail newsletter for parents and Brunner staff.  If you would like to submit content/flyers for the e-mail, first read the Submission Guidelines for the Brunner Back@ck and send the information to brunnerschoolnews@yahoo.com (your content/flyer must be approved by Mrs. Frank before you e-mail it!).

It is our goal to greatly reduce the amount of paper we use to send flyers home in backpacks, and this e-mail is an important step.  We encourage you to sign up by clicking on the "PTA Email Sign-Up" link on the left menu.  If you do need to send a flyer home, please consider shortening your message to fit two-to-a-page. Thank you for supporting Brunner's efforts to go green!

Greetings from the Brunner Media Center!

Do you ever get mail or magazines that contain sheets of stickers? Or unsolicited address labels? We are looking for donations of these stickers or any other kind of stickers, to help us create bookmarks. Approximately 300 students in grades K - 4 are allowed to select one bookmark to take home each week. That's a lot of bookmarks to supply! The cost of ready-made bookmarks is prohibitive, so for the past few years we have made bookmarks out of cardstock and decorated them with stickers or stamps. We would appreciate any and all donations of stickers that would otherwise be thrown away. It's a great way to reduce, reuse and recycle!

Thank you!
Laura Coburn,  Brunner Media Specialist

Attention Book Lovers - Brunner Book Swap

Brunner children can participate in the "Brunner Book Swap." Here's how it works. Children should bring in books, hardcover or paperback, in good condition, that they no longer want. For each book a child brings in they will receive one Book Swap ticket. They can redeem one ticket for one "new-to-you" book on the Book Swap cart. Tell your children to double check with you before bringing in any books to swap. Any questions, please ask Mrs. Coburn, the Brunner Media Center Specialist.
