From the Principal |
We would still like to ask all parents' cooperation in spreading the news that our kindergarten and new student registration is now in full force. This is especially important to communicate to neighbors and friends who might have a child of kindergarten age. Any help you can give us in having parents call the school office to complete an initial registration form will be greatly appreciated. Kindergarten screening will be held in April.
Electronic games, devices, and trading cards are not permitted in school. Balls, carried in backpacks, are acceptable. Balls should be labeled with name and are to be used only with the approval of lunch aides and teachers.
Please check the Lost and Found. Unclaimed items will be donated on April 15.
As the school year progresses, lunch ticket collection has been presenting a problem. It may seem inconsequential if a lunch ticket is handed in late or not at all, but the behind the scenes work is greatly affected since all our food comes from the high school each day.
If your child completes the challenge and returns the form by April 5, your family will be entered to receive free admission to the JA Coles PTA Bingo Night. Forms were sent home on Tuesday. Get ready, get set, get healthy!
Each student will have his/her picture taken on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. Shortly thereafter, your child's pictures will be sent home. If you would like to purchase the pictures, instructions will be enclosed in the picture envelope. If you are not interested in buying the photos, all you have to do is return the envelope to your child's classroom teacher. There is no obligation to purchase the pictures. This is NOT a PTA activity. Spring pictures will be a little different than the fall pictures. No money should be sent ahead of time. No retakes or make-ups can be done.
Look for the notice from Mrs. Raszka inviting you to meet the author, David Adler, on April 18. His visit is sponsored by the PTA.
Spring recess will be from Monday, April 25 through and including Friday, April 29. School will resume on Monday, May 2. Enjoy your spring vacation!
