Introduction Letter from Christine Mahoney — Resolve Intervention Counselor
Dear Parent or Guardian:
In order to better serve and meet the needs of the Coles School Community, I would like to reintroduce myself.
I am Christine Mahoney and I am the Resolve Intervention Counselor. This is my third year at Coles School and I have had the opportunity to meet most of the students while teaching lessons.
Throughout the school year, classes are taught for grades 1-4 on topics including friends, feelings, respect, problem solving, bullying, coping skills and stress management. A lesson was also taught on tolerance and acceptance during the Week of Respect in October. Most classes include a brief discussion and an activity. Handouts or work sheets are often provided to reinforce the lesson.
In addition, I meet individually with students who are struggling with issues that are interfering with academic or social development such as anxiety or divorce. Parental consent is required for the children to participate in this short-term intervention.
I am at Coles School on Wednesdays and Fridays and would be happy to offer additional information or to answer any questions you may have. I work closely with teachers and school staff to create a more respectful, caring and productive educational environment for all students at Coles.
Respectfully,
Christine Mahoney, MA
