YEARBOOK CLUB
- STUDENTS : 7 th & 8 th Grade
- ADVISOR: Mrs. Barbara McGuane & Mr. Matthew Kalafat
- MEETING DATES : Wednesdays 2:45pm - 3:30pm
- Sign-up and parent permission required
At the Yearbook Club, students create the School Yearbook.
The following are the major activities that students perform as a member of the club:
- Students develop a theme and learn how to make the theme carry throughout the yearbook.
- Students decide on the content for each section.
- Students learn how to take pictures and use them to develop a page for the yearbook.
- Students learn to proof-read the text and correct errors.
- Students learn to use Adobe Pagemaker and Year Tech 2005 software packages that they use to create the yearbook.
- Last but not least, students also learn about copyright issues and legal aspects of publication.
The Yearbook Club has one major fund-raiser in September to reduce the cost of the yearbook. They also collect advertisements and sponsorships from businesses in the community.
