Purpose
- To
serve as the executive committee of Council. Can set the business
agenda and/ or make recommendations for action by Council. Can take independent action in the name of Presidents'
Committee.
- To
provide a forum for the local school Presidents to discuss issues
and to exchange ideas.

Meetings
The Committee meets monthly or more as needed.
Traditionally, meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the
month at 9:00 am at the home of the Council President.
Meetings generally last until 11:00-11:30 am. They can run longer if business warrants.
Meetings include reports from the officers as
well as reports on significant school happenings from the eight
local PTAs. Occasionally,
a guest, such as the Superintendent of Schools or a member of the
Board of Education is invited.

Participation
Members of this committee are:
-
All Council officers
- Union County PTA Liaison
- Past President
- Presidents of the 8 school
PTAs
All
are expected to attend.
However, a President, with approval of the Council President, may
appoint a designee, preferably another PTA officer,
to attend if he/ she is not able to do so.

Confidentiality
All discussions, whether in person in the
committee, in writing or by email are considered “confidential.”

Traditions
-
The local school Presidents provide refreshments for
the meetings. Signup
occurs early in the year. The President of Council provides beverages and paper goods.
- Presidents have a luncheon or other social
activity after the December meeting.
- PTA presidents are asked by the Board of
Education to collect preliminary vote counts at the polling places
on the evening of the Budget Vote and School Board Election.

Presidents host an annual luncheon for the school
administration (determined by custom and the Council president)
after the May meeting.
