The School One staff and I are pleased to invite you to our “Back to School Night” program on Thursday, September 18th. The purpose of Back to School Night is for you to visit your child’s classroom and meet his/her teacher. The teacher will share classroom methodologies and practices, including expectations regarding class work, homework, and classroom management. District educational goals and curriculum will also be discussed. Teachers of supplemental programs, including Special Education, Basic Skills, Reading Recovery and Speech, and the special subject areas of Art, Health, Library, Music, Physical Education, and World Language, will be available to meet with you as well.

All students will follow a single-session schedule on September 18th as follows:

 Grades 1 through 4: 8:35 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.

Morning Pre-K and Kindergarten: 8:35 to 10:35 a.m.

Afternoon Pre-K and Kindergarten: 10:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.

The evening schedule indicated below will be followed. Due to the design of the program, we respectfully request that children do NOT accompany parents to Back to School Night. We recognize that parents are interested in finding out specifically how their child is progressing, however, the Back to School Night program does not provide an opportunity for teachers to engage in discussions with parents regarding a particular student. Individual parent/teacher conferences will be held in November for every student.
