RE: Absence Reporting

Effective September 1, 2004, all staff are required to use the new AESOP system for reporting their absences. This is a new computer-based system that will allow you to record absences via the phone (800-94-AESOP) or the Internet (www.aesoponline.com).

Enclosed with this memo are materials that will assist you in becoming acquainted with the new system, including a letter with your ID and PIN. Please review these materials carefully, register your name and title* (do not include your school) via phone within 24 hours of receipt of this memorandum, (main menu option 5), and contact me or Kathy Dow (ext. 31) directly with any questions.

Important changes to absence reporting procedures with the new system include:

  • You must record all absences in a timely fashion and as soon as you know the absence will occur.
  • You must continue to submit all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion for absence approval.
  • If applicable, vacation or professional days may only be put in the system by your administrator's office. The Office of Human Resources will record absences associated with an approved extended leave.
  • AESOP now contains your leave balances for the start of this school year. You may either view the balances on the website or listen via phone. Any questions with regard to balances may be directed to Kathy Dow (ext. 31).

With any new system there will of course be questions or concerns. Again, please feel free to contact Kathy Dow or myself at ext. 31 for assistance.

*If you have a designated parking space number, then please include the number after stating your title. (e.g. John Doe, English Teacher, Parking Space 25)
