	Science The grade five science program has been designed to provide all students with an exciting "hands on" experience which emphasizes higher-level thinking skills. Classroom activities involve students in the process of using an inquiry approach to science. An emphasis on experimentation, observation, and analysis sharpens students' problem-solving skills. Writing is an integral part of each FOSS unit. Use of technology, including the Internet, is an integral part of the students' science experience. The program uses the Full Option Science System (FOSS) to ensure a balanced approach to physical, earth, life, and technology science. The grade five science curriculum offers students challenging opportunities to practice science and build confidence in both individual and cooperative abilities.
