WHITE DAY
YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks will be distributed to all students on Monday. 5th, 6th, and
7th graders will receive theirs today. If you aren't sure if you have
purchased one, please check the list posted in the Main Office window to see
if your name is listed.
FALL SPORTS
8th graders who wish to sign up for high school sports must pick up forms in
the nurse’s office.
The following sports are being offered at the high school:
Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Girl’s Tennis, Gymnastics,
Soccer & Volleyball
Terrill students who will be in 7th or 8th grade this fall should also sign
up for fall sports in the nurse’s office. The only fall sport offered is
Soccer.
MEDIA CENTER
The Media Center is now closed for inventory, students may still return
overdue books.
CELL PHONES
In our ongoing effort to go green, the 6th grade is asking students and
faculty to bring in any old and/or used cell phones. These phones will be

ALL SPORTS
8th graders who wish to sign up for high school sports must pick up forms in
the nurse’s office.
The following sports are being offered at the high school:

Builder's Club Camp Marcella Walkathon is coming closer. All students
interested in walking with friends, laughing uncontrollably, winning gift
cards and eating pancakes, be sure to turn your permission slips and money
to Miss Semple by June 5th. All students who raise $75 will get a stylish
walkathon
t-shirt. See you Thursday, June 12th!

5th Grader Chorus is cancelled today only, June 3rd.
GIRLS SOFTBALL
There will be a softball end of the season party/practice today, Tuesday,
June 3 from 3:00PM 4:00PM. All players should bring their "washed"
uniforms, and come ready to play. If you have any questions see Mrs. Loftus

Ms. Frost’s Eighth Grade Poetry Committee has put together the annual
“Spring into Poetry” contest. Submit your best poem, and you could be chosen
to attend the poetry celebration on June 4th during period 6. The poems must
be submitted from now until May 30th to your Language Arts Teacher, and a
dollar donation is required per poem to enter. All the money collected will
be donated to The Wellness Community, which helps people with cancer and

As we move into the warmer months, students are reminded of the dress code.
Specific requirements regarding the dress and grooming regulations are as
follows:
a. Clothing that unreasonably exposes the midriff or has an unreasonably
low neckline is not permitted in the school building during school hours.
The list of restricted items includes: backless to the waist tops and
dresses, tube tops, and mini-skirts/dresses or shorts that are shorter than
mid-thigh. Undergarments must not be visible. Clothing which is not worn
appropriately, not properly fastened, or with tears or holes that are
indecent will not be permitted.
b. Clothing, accessories, or jewelry that include messages associated
with gangs, alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, or other illegal substances or
paraphernalia, sexual connotations, indecent/lewd writings or pictures or
cartoon images that support or depict discrimination on the basis of age,
handicap, national origin, marital status, race, religion, sexual
orientation or gender are not allowed.
c. Personal grooming including combing, brushing, spraying hair, spraying
of perfumes or colognes, and applying cosmetics is allowed only in restrooms
and designated areas.
d. Pants must be worn at the waist and must be securely fastened.
e. Articles of jewelry that can potentially cause a safety concern or
hazard or can easily deface school property are not permitted.
f. Footwear must be worn in the building at all times.
g. Headgear is not to be worn in the building during school hours. Hair
accessories that complement students’ dress and which pose no safety or
identification concern are permitted. Head accessories worn for religious
purposes will be permitted if accompanied by a note from an official
representative of the religious institution or a parent. Also, students
having a medical condition, which may require headgear, will be permitted if
accompanied by a parent note or medical excuse.
No sunglasses may be worn during the school day unless medically prescribed.

handicap, national origin, marital status, race, religion, sexual
orientation or gender are not allowed.
c. Personal grooming including combing, brushing, spraying hair, spraying
of perfumes or colognes, and applying cosmetics is allowed only in restrooms
and designated areas.
d. Pants must be worn at the waist and must be securely fastened.
e. Articles of jewelry that can potentially cause a safety concern or
hazard or can easily deface school property are not permitted.
f. Footwear must be worn in the building at all times.
g. Headgear is not to be worn in the building during school hours. Hair
accessories that complement students’ dress and which pose no safety or
identification concern are permitted. Head accessories worn for religious
purposes will be permitted if accompanied by a note from an official
representative of the religious institution or a parent. Also, students
having a medical condition, which may require headgear, will be permitted if
accompanied by a parent note or medical excuse.
No sunglasses may be worn during the school day unless medically prescribed.
MEDIA CENTER
The Media Center is closed during testing.
GRADE 5 AND 6 TESTING INFO
Students in grades 5 and 6 will be receiving their testing locations on
Friday during period 7. The students that are assigned to any of the testing
rooms upstairs in rooms 35, 36, 37, 38. 39, or 40 will need to remember to
report to the main cafeteria each morning of testing after you have gone to
your locker. Once the eighth graders have had time to visit their lockers
and move to their period one location, the students that are testing will
proceed upstairs with a teacher to your testing location.
Grade 8 students will need to get to their lockers quickly next week from
Monday through Thursday so that the testing for the 5th and 6th graders can
begin. We need the hallway in the new wing completely clear by 8:10 each
morning. Students in grade 8 must remember all of their books for periods
one, two, and three each of the four days. Students must also remember to
bring along any lunches or lunch money with them to their first period
class. There will be no access to the 8th grade lockers until after 8th
grade lunch during the testing days next week.
HOMEWORK CLUB

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS

P.A.L.S. Cobra Softball registration is May 8th If you are interested,
please come to the Main Office for a registration form.
EARLY PASSES
All teachers are reminded to distribute passes to students for early
arrivals before 8:00AM.
NURSE
The nurse is out to lunch between 10:45AM and 11:45AM. Please only send
true emergencies to the Front Office.
FORGOTTEN ITEMS
Any student who has forgotten their lunch, lunch money or if you realize
that you have forgotten an item from home please check the Main Office to
see if your item is there. We will not call the classroom for forgotten
homework or projects.
April is the month of citizenship. Citizenship means doing your share to
make your school and community better. Cooperation, staying informed, being
a good neighbor, and obeying laws and rules make one a good citizen.
Respecting authority and protecting the environment also are important parts
