From high-fives to happy tears, the first-ever Senior Clap Out on Friday, June 13 brought joy, nostalgia and community spirit across Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools. The graduating seniors of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School (SPFHS) proudly returned to their elementary schools, where they were welcomed and cheered on by students, teachers and staff.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education is seeking a new board member to fill a vacancy following the resignation of Amy Winkler, effective June 1, 2025. This qualified applicant from Fanwood would serve until the next annual school election in November 2025.

Marc Fabiano, a health and physical education teacher at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School (SPFHS), is making a run to be named America’s Favorite Teacher in a national competition. Voting in the semi-final round ends Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. PDT.
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Joan Mast are excited to announce that Dr. Warren Hynes has been named the new Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School (SPFHS) principal. He’ll begin in the role when Dr. David Heisey retires at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
