Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools moves forward with voter-approved projects following successful referendum

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools has begun the bid process and completed the first sale of bonds for the projects approved by voters in January 2025. With construction beginning this fall, the district is on track to open La Grande Elementary School to pre-kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year and to complete district-wide upgrades to fire alarms, electrical, and HVAC by fall 2026 and fall 2027.

Who We Are

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools is a Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade public school district in Union County, New Jersey. The district's five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school support an active and diverse student body of nearly 5,500 students. 


What We Do

Our mission is to educate every student to become a confident and caring life-long learner who can communicate and contribute positively to the rapidly changing world. The district, in cooperation with the community, will provide, an academic environment which values excellence, initiative and diversity.
