Step #1 – Submit an application (beginning February 2019)
Beginning on February 4, 2019, applications will be available to pick up in the Main Office of each elementary school. The application can also be accessed from the Preschool Program website at spfk12.org/preschool.
Mail your child’s completed Preschool Application with the $50 application fee (check or money order made payable to “SPF Board of Education”) to the Preschool Office at 667 Westfield Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. To maintain student safety, please do not come to high school in person to submit your child's application.
Step #2 – Receive a placement offer (May 2019)
Families will receive a letter from the Preschool Office in the mail indicating the specific school and session (AM/PM) their child will be offered for the 2019-2020 school year. You will also receive all required registration paperwork at this time.
Please call the Preschool Office at (908) 889-8600 ext. 3302 to either accept or decline the placement offer. If your child has not been placed at his/her home school or during the preferred session (AM/PM), you may ask to be placed on the waiting list for another appropriate placement.
Step #3 – Submit all registration paperwork (June 2019)
Call the Preschool Office to accept your child’s placement and schedule an in-person appointment to drop off your registration paperwork. Please do not come to the office without an appointment.
When you attend your scheduled registration appointment at the Preschool Office, please bring
(1) your child’s completed registration packet,
(2) your child’s original birth certificate,
(3) proof of residency documentation*,
(4) a $330 check or money order made payable to the “SPF Board of Education.” This deposit is applied to June 2020.
