At Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, we currently offer four Advanced Placement courses. These courses include AP French Language, AP German Language, AP Italian Language, and AP Spanish Language. All four are equivalent to college level courses, and include rigorous instruction in the target language. Students are expected to take the AP exam in May. Students enrolled in each course must complete a required summer assignment prior to the start of school in September.
Below you will find information about each specific World Language Advanced Placement course. Beginning with the 2011-12 school year, the AP French, German and Italian exams will present a new format that focuses on the integration of language skills. It is therefore imperative that you read the course descriptions carefully. The AP Spanish course was the first to implement the integrated skills format in 2008.
