Kindergarten Supply List
J. Ackerman Coles Elementary School
Suggested Supply List for Kindergarten
Recommended At Home Use :
- A variety of washable markers, crayons, colored pencils
- Pencils
- 2 large glue sticks
- 1 8oz bottle of glue
- Primary composition book (large drawing space on top, writing space on bottom) Staples sells a Primary Composition Notebook K-2
- Kid scissors
- Headphones or earbuds to plug into device
- For Art Class - An inexpensive drawing/sketch book, or a supply of blank paper and a folder for the paper - this will be used for practice, a high quality book is not recommended
At School Use- Please be prepared to replace or add supplies as needed and label your child’s supplies.
- A photo of the student (4x6) and a Family photo (4x6)
- At least 5 sharpened pencils (non-mechanical) at all time
- One box of crayons
- Box of colored pencils
- One box of washable markers
- 2 Expo Markers
- 1 block eraser
- 1 highlighter
- 1 pack 3 by 3 post-its
- Primary composition books (large drawing space on top, writing space on bottom)
- 2 large glue sticks
- 1 8oz bottle of washable glue
- Headphones or earbuds to plug into device
- An old shirt/smock labeled with name in large letters on the front (in a clear ziploc bag)
- 1 extra face mask
- A towel for outdoor breaks
- 1 leak-proof refillable water bottle labeled with your child’s name.
Optional supplies to help keep our classroom clean and germ-free:
Tissues, Disinfecting Wipes, Hand sanitizer

First Grade Supply List

Suggested Supply List for First Grade
Recommended for At Home:
- Ruler
- Glue sticks
- 1 pair of child scissors
- Crayons
- Markers
- Sharpened pencils
- A 2 pocket folder
- One single spiral wide ruled notebook (no college ruled)
- For Art Class - An inexpensive drawing/sketch book, or a supply of blank paper and a folder for the paper - this will be used for practice, a high quality book is not recommended
At School Use- Please be prepared to replace supplies as needed and label your child’s supplies.
- A block eraser
- 4 glue sticks
- 8 pack of Crayons
- A 2 pocket folder to be used for school mail
- An old shirt or smock labeled with your child’s name in large letters on the front
- One single spiral wide ruled notebook labeled with “Poetry Notebook” and your child’s name (no college ruled)
- One single spiral wide ruled notebook labeled with “Word Study” and your child’s name (no college ruled)
- One blunt point pair of kid’s scissors
- Headphones (labeled in a large ziplock bag)
- 1 leak-proof refillable water bottle labeled with your child’s name.

Second Grade Supply List

Suggested Supply List for Second Grade
Recommended for At Home:
- Ruler
- Glue stick
- 1 pair of child scissors
- 1 mini dry erase board (about 8x11) seen recently at Dollar Tree
- 2 dry erase markers (fine tip black)
- Sharpened pencils
- 2 marble composition books
- For Art Class - An inexpensive drawing/sketch book, or a supply of blank paper and a folder for the paper - this will be used for practice, a high quality book is not recommended
At School:
- 2 heavy-duty folders with 2 pockets (Labeled Take home & Spanish)
- 24 sharpened pencils
- 1 eraser
- 3 - gallon-sized ziplock bags
- 1 small hand-held pencil sharpener
- 2 large glue sticks
- 1 pair of child scissors
- 2 marble composition books
- 1 box of colored pencils (12 count or smaller)
- 1 box of crayons (24 count)
- 1 box of markers (12 count)
- 1 pack of 3x3 Post-its
- 2 dry erase markers (fine tip black)
- 1 dry erase eraser (a small piece of felt works great!)
- Headphones (labeled in a large ziplock bag)

Third Grade Supply List

Suggested Supply List for Third Grade
Recommended for At Home and In School:
- 1 ½ or 2 “ binder
- 1 Package of 8 count binder dividers (with pockets)
- 1 package of 20-25 sheet protectors (available at Target for $2.49)
- 1 package of white loose leaf paper, wide ruled
- Sharpened Pencils
- 1 block eraser or eraser caps for pencils
- 1 package of Sticky notes
- Dry erase marker (any color)
- Scissors
- Ruler
- An assortment of markers, crayons, and colored pencils
- Headphone or earbuds
- For Art Class - An inexpensive drawing/sketch book, or a supply of blank paper and a folder for the paper - this will be used for practice, a high quality book is not recommended
Additional Supplies for At School: A pencil case will be provided for all students.
- 1 6” or 12” ruler (12” preferably).* If you get one that’s 3-hole punched it can be placed in the binder.
- 1 hand-held sharpener
- Colored pencil and/or crayons and/or markers
- 1 gallon sized ziploc bag to hold supplies
- Earbuds or headphones labeled in a ziploc bag

Fourth Grade Supply List

Suggested Supply List for Fourth Grade
Recommended for At Home and At School:
- 3 marble composition books 100 sheets, wide-ruled (Please do not label them.)
- 2 folders with pockets (Please do not label them.)
- 1 large pencil case/box that will hold the following items:
- 5 or more sharpened pencils (non-mechanical) at all times
- 3 erasable pens (black ink)
- 1 pack of 3 by 3 post-its
- 1 block eraser
- 3 black dry erase markers
- 1 dry erase eraser (a small piece of felt works great!)
- 1 box of colored pencils (12 or 24 count pack)
- Crayons (24 count pack)
- 1 glue stick
- 1 small pair of scissors
- 1 12 inch ruler (inches or centimeters)
- 1 highlighter (yellow preferred)
- For Art Class - An inexpensive drawing/sketch book, or a supply of blank paper and a folder for the paper - this will be used for practice, a high quality book is not recommended
At Home Use :
- Half-circle protractor
- Basic calculator
- 1 package of white loose-leaf paper
At School Items:
- 1 pair of earbuds or headphones in a Ziploc baggie, (labeled with student’s first and last name)
- 1 hand-held pencil sharpener
- 1 leak-proof refillable water bottle (labeled with student’s first and last name)
- 1 art smock (labeled with student’s first and last name)
