Learn more about our Birthday Book Donation Program
Dear School One Families,
Our new “Birthday Book” Program is ready to launch! This is a great opportunity to help our school library grow. It is completely optional, and this letter will inform you of the procedures if you choose to participate.
We currently have 2 different wishlists so you can choose a way to donate that works best for your family. Wishlist.com is best suited for families that prefer to purchase titles online. We also have a Barnes and Noble list for families that wish to make an in-person purchase. (We are also looking to partner with a local bookstore for those that prefer to support small business - more information on that choice is coming in the near future!)
Please follow the steps below if you would like to donate a birthday book:
-
You and your child can choose any book from our “School One Birthday Book Wishlist” which you can find at the end of this letter. Please do not bring in a book from home, as we have a list of needed books for you to choose from. If you would like to donate a book that is not on the list, feel free to contact me at jglackin@spfk12.org to see if our library needs that particular title.
-
You may then purchase a NEW HARDCOVER from any website/store. (Please note that hardcover books are preferred due to their durability and shelf life.)
-
When you are ready with your donation, please attach a post-it or small piece of paper with the following information: your child’s name, classroom teacher, and your child’s birthday. The information will be placed on a special card affixed to the book.
-
Have your child bring the library book to the library any day (it does not have to be on their actual birthday)! I will snap a photo and add it to our Birthday Book wall!
The School One Library would be truly thrilled to accept a book donation on your child’s behalf! Thank you for your generosity and support!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Glackin
