Recognizing the vital need for post-high school education and the increasing financial burden that education places on many families, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation was established on June 27, 1966. Since that time, the Scholarship Foundation has solicited funds annually for its Dollars for Students scholarships. In addition to our Dollars for Students fund, the Scholarship Foundation currently administers over 40 separate honorary and memorial scholarship funds. Approximately 75% of those funds have been established since 2000 and more than one half have been initiated since 2010. Scholarships can be set up as a onetime award or awarded annually. For further information on establishing a local scholarship, contact Mary Ball Cappio, President. All funds received are utilized to grant scholarship assistance to qualifying high school students and current college students who reside in Scotch Plains or Fanwood, New Jersey.
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Scholarship Foundation qualifies as a charitable organization under IRS section 501(c)(3). Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
Contributions are welcomed anytime. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, send your check made payable to "The SPF Scholarship Foundation" to P.O. Box 123, Fanwood, NJ 07023.
