Journaling
It's well known that journaling, even a little bit a day can help you check in with your emotional side and can even help sort things out. You don't need a fancy journal, all you need is paper and pen/pencil or even a computer. Just relax into it...release your thoughts, feelings, anxieties...think of it as a brain dump. Write down your dreams, your fears, your frustrations and triumphs. If you're sad? Write it down. If you're angry? Write it down. If you've got a decision to make? Write down your options. If you're feeling on top of the world? Celebrate and commemorate it. Doodle...scribble...let it flow from your mind to the journal.
There's no right or wrong way to journal. It's not a one-size-fits-all. You.do.you.
Not sure how to start? Here's some ideas:
- A gratitude journal - write down 5 things that happened in the past 24 hours that you're grateful for. You'll be surprised how many things you'll see when you're looking for them.
- A bullet journal - part planner, part diary, part written meditation. It's a great way to keep moving through your day, reflect on it and process it emotionally.
- Need more suggestions to get you writing? Here's some journal prompts...
- What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
- What makes you feel like a strong person?
- Write about a time when you did something you were afraid to try. How did you feel afterward?
- Write about a time when you helped another person. How did you feel?
- Think of something that you would like to do better. How can you work to improve?
- What are your negative or limiting mindsets? How can you turn them around?
