• In our district, we have considerable resources to help our students not only thrive academically but to bloom as individuals.  At the HS and both Middle School buildings, we have on-site counselors who should be considered the first point of contact for a student needing help either with school subjects or personal problems.  If the student's needs exceed their assigned counselor's expertise, their counselor will know the next steps to take and will do their best to help the student.

In addition, we have district wide psychologists and a behavioral counselor to assist students.  There are student assistance counselors and a substance awareness coordinator available to all students at Scotch Plains - Fanwood Schools.  Each building has a school level anti-bullying specialist plus a district wide anti-bullying specialist to work with students who feel they are a victim of harassment, bullying or intimidation.  Scotch Plains-Fanwood Schools has a zero tolerance for bullying behavior and works with all students to make sure they feel like victors, not victims.

At the High School, there are several counselors assigned to students based on the first letter of their last name.  Click to be taken to the SPFHS Counseling Page.

At our Middle Schools, there are counselors assigned to students based on their grade level.  The Terrill counseling page can be found here.  You can reach the Nettingham counseling page by clicking on this link.

At the Elementary Schools, please reach out to the student's teacher or the building principal to access the resources available to the child.  If the student has an IEP, please contact the assigned Child Study Team member for further assistance. We are very proud to announce that as of the 2022-2023 school year, each elementary school has a Student Assistance Specialist assigned to the building.  They are:
