Kindergarten Enrollment 2024 - 2025
Eligibility
- To be eligible to enroll in Kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before October 1 (See Board Entrance Age Policy 5112).
- Students must be residents of Scotch Plains or Fanwood.
- To determine which school your kindergarten child will attend please see the District Street Index. If you are still uncertain, please contact Noreen Fitzgerald at nfitzgerald@spfk12.org or (908)889-0100, ext. 31504.
- We are requesting all kindergarten-age children, both returning students and new students, register by April 28, 2024, to ensure placement in their home schools.
- All current preschool families should complete the online Letter of Intent process by February 22, 2024, via PowerSchool to ensure placement in their home school. (IEP students may be placed based on their recommended program.)

If your child is NEW to the District:
- Please complete the Online PreRegistration Procedure.
- Once you receive your child's Access ID and password, follow the Online Registration Process for New Students.

Download, print, and complete the Medical Packet. Please note that you must have a PDF viewer (such as Adobe Reader) installed on your computer.Please bring the following with you to your in-person appointment:

- ORIGINAL Birth Certificate with raised seal (parents maintain the original document)
- Completed Certification of Residency with supporting documentation
- Universal Child Health Record which has been completed by your child's physician (original signature required)
- Completed Record of Immunization Completed by Physician

If your child is currently enrolled in the District’s preschool program, please complete the online Letter of Intent process by February 22, 2024, via PowerSchool to ensure placement in their home school. (IEP students may be placed based on their recommended program.) In-person registration is not required unless there's a change of address. However, updated immunization records must be submitted via PowerSchool.

If you have previously been enrolled in the SPF district, information from Powerschool will populate your forms. Please verify the information and submit the form. You will still need to provide documentation if it is not the same as the previously uploaded information - see the school contact information below if you need clarification regarding the documentation.

Online Registration
Online registration for students entering the district for grades K-12 is now available. Links are provided below to start the registration process.
